Confucius Institute Directors’ Work Meeting Held in Renmin
2007-12-17 11:20:58 Confucius Institute directors’ work meeting was held on Dec.12th 2007 in Mingde Building.Prof.Chen Yulu, Vice President of Renmin University hosted the meeting and expressed warm welcome to all the guests. Seven directors from Confucius Institutes cooperating with Renmin gave short presentation each no more than ten minutes. They took full use of PowerPoint and video to show the activities and achievements of their institutes in the year 2007. CI took the responsibility to promulgate and promote Chinese as well as Chinese culture all over the world. So except for the daily teaching work, Confucius Institutes in different countries organized plenty of cultural activities,such as Beijing opera show and Chinese contest. The local people were fascinated by the charm of Chinese culture and spoke highly if it.
The High School affiliated to Renmin University (RDFZ) is the only high school that participates in the construction of CI. It cooperates with Renmin and University of Massachusetts to build CI. As the ambassador of cultural exchange, the students’ arts group of RDFZ has visited United States of American twice for performance. The foreign audiences were amazed on the marvelous performances given by those high school students, and the Chinese in the U.S. felt very proud of them. Miz. Liu Pengzhi, Principle of RDFZ suggested to the other six directors that FDFZ was very willing to collaborate with their affiliated high schools.
Prof. Ji Baocheng made some remarks in conclusion. He stated that it’s pleasure for Renmin to cooperate with the 7 universities. Renmin would spare no efforts, with the directors, to make CI better and take this opportunity to enhance cooperation in other disciplines.
Renmin so far has cooperated with University of Ireland, University of Helsinki, University College Dublin, University of Tel Aviv, University of Zimbabwe, University of Massachusetts, Copenhagen Business School and University of Leipzig on CI. Several teachers of Renmin have been teaching in these CIs, and next year, seven more will join them.
